Headshots and More

If you’re ever in need of some great kitchen stuff, I know a lady who can help you out with that. My friend, Angie Jensen, is a Pampered Chef Consultant here in Halifax and if you want top quality kitchen tools, she’s the lady to call (pssst – you can get in touch with her by clicking here).

We had a great time and lots of laughs doing her headshots (who knew getting the perfect “blowing flour” picture could be so hard?). And, happily, she was totally on board with doing some fun and fancy shots just for her once we got the business-side of things out of the way. Now she has the pictures she needs and a few she wants and we’ve got some more stuff to laugh about when we see each other on the playground. Need headshots? Just let me know.

Why You Need a Good Headshot | Halifax NS Photographer

The old saying that a picture is worth a thousand words has never been more true than in today’s social media-driven digital age.  More often than not, people see your face online long before they meet you in person.  Whether a potential customer is checking out your profile on LinkedIn, or looking up your business on Facebook, Twitter or GooglePlus, a great picture of yourself is a must.  While it’s definitely quicker to simply upload the one Uncle Fred took of you at the park last summer or to grab your selfie stick and stand in front of a white wall, having your pictures done professionally can take your profile to the next level.

There are some important differences between the picture from Uncle Fred and one taken by a professional.  A headshot photographer knows how to use lighting and posing to show you at your best.  They can help you figure out your personal branding by talking through wardrobes and backgrounds.  And, a great photographer will help you to feel at ease and get the shot that communicates your personality and the persona you want to present.

In short, a great professional headshot is an investment that will quickly prove its worth.  If you’re interested in scheduling a session to have yours done, I’d love to hear from you.

It’s not just any family that would decide to leave a their normal, everyday lives to head to Haiti to work with and minister to its people long-term.  That, however, is what Robin and Beth Churchill are doing.  After having God lay this on their hearts last year, they and the two children they still have at home willingly chose to give up what they knew to head into a brand new adventure.  Jobs were given up, fundraising began and the house was put up for sale.  Knowing their story, I was more than happy to provide some head shots and portraits for them to use.  They’re a wonderful family with great things in store!  If you’d like to follow their journey, you can find out more at their website by clicking here.
