Better in Black and White? Halifax Children’s Photographer

child working hardI posted this picture on Facebook in two versions – one in color and one in black and white and asked people to comment on their favorite version, with the plan to post the one people liked best here on my blog.  So, the other day, I went with the color picture (you can see it in the previous post).  Because I couldn’t decide which I liked best, though, I decided to post the black and white picture as well.  I love the picture and I still don’t know which version I like more. I guess it’s all about the eye of the beholder.

A Hard Day’s Work | Halifax, NS Children’s Photographer

a hard day's work

I love this picture of this little chubby boy.  It isn’t posed or planned.  I had my camera out to take some pictures of him (he really is ridiculously cute), but he was more interested in getting the lawn finished before bedtime.  So, I just clicked away while he “worked”.  And it worked for me.  I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love a chubby baby belly.  And just about everyone I know can relate to working until a job is done, no matter how tough that uphill push can be.

So you take a cute baby, a first birthday, a cake and a whole lot of frosting and this is what you get – pure sweetness on a number of levels.  This little guy was gung-ho for his cake and dove right in without any problem.  And, since he was still happy after his clean-up bath, I took a couple more shots.  I’d say he’s super-cute messy and he cleans up pretty well, too.

Chubby Cheeks and Smiles – Pt. 2

So I promised a little bit ago that I would do a second part to my first Chubby Cheeks and Smiles post.  This was one of those cases where I had an awful lot of cute pictures and it was really hard to choose just a few to put up.  And, although there are not quite as many giant smiles from this little man this time around, I like how these pictures show other sides of him: how much he loves his momma, some of his little mannerisms, and a little bit more of who he is.  I love what you can capture in a photograph.

I had a chance to do a mini-photo session with these two little men before Christmas.  Before they set out to play with my guys, they took some time to pose for some pictures for Mom.  With their matching shirts, their red hair and their ready smiles, the pictures couldn’t help but be cute.
